True, but a President does have the right to pardon. It’s not unlawful to do that is it? Or, is this not a pardon?

    nevermind, just read this:

The commutation does nothing to prevent Libby from appealing his conviction. And if the appeal fails or is still in process at the end of Bush’s term, there is nothing to prevent the president from granting Libby a full pardon before he leaves office.

Is el Presidente’s action within the law? Clearly, yes.

Does the whole think stink? Same answer. Classified information (aka: national secrets) were deliberately leaked to the press by members of the executive to send the message: “Dissenters, STFU”. No one, including the guy who had admitted to it, has ever been charged for the actual leak and the only person charged or convicted of anything in the whole affair is going to walk.

Crimes have been committed, we all know it and no one’s being held accountable. That’s is all.
